On 18 November, Christie's will hold a major sale of works of art in London from the collection and estate of the late shipping magnate Sir Colin Anderson (d.1980), a shipping director of P&O. He was also central to the development of the Tate Gallery, as well as being Provost of the Royal College of Art. Many of the works had been obtained direct from the artists themselves. Four important works by Graham Sutherland are in the sale. Sir Kenneth Clark had a significant influence on the Anderson collection and Henry Moore was also a close friend.
