Rogers on a roll, no butter

The wine is flowing at the River Café. Since it appears that notwithstanding assurances by partner architect Marco Goldschmied (anxious to take his stake out and move off with the proceeds), the practice-owned café may not be so easy to dismantle. The greatly successful venue of Thameside London (not that there is much competition on the river anyway), provided both Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, as well as many others, with a feel for the essence of new 'in-restaurant', with naturally derived foods. The River Café has witnessed the subtle but determined interaction of numerous of London's creative literati. Probably not even the Ivy restaurant can boast such a list of insiders with their table preferences recorded and repeated.
