The American artist Richard Serra is renowned for raising awareness of the concept of site-specific artwork. He works with industrial materials and steel to build large-scale sculptures that are installed in public spaces or galleries. This year, Serra presents another side to his oeuvre in the exhibition Richard Serra: Drawings for the Courtauld Gallery. Using transparent plastic sheets and black crayon, he challenges the conventional assumptions about drawing with a collection of artworks specially designed for the show at Somerset House.

The Courtauld Gallery, London, until 12 January 2014.
