At last there is a strong critic of the public institution of Tate Modern, so long protected by taboos in the ongoing power game. This is Charles Saatchi. Who has finally 'decloseted' about the upcoming Turner Award. A groundswell of support has cybered across the art world. December's Art Review found in their survey that Saatchi was the 'most influential person' in the art world. This not because of a collection of over 3,000 art works. Saatchi's rival camp will, take over space just up from Tate Modern, in the former City Hall on the South Bank. And there's more coming from the Chapman Brothers, who are keeping their powder dry, with Saatchi's encouragement, until next year.
