Beat Nation: Art, Hip Hop and Aboriginal Culture

Beat Nation: Art, Hip Hop and Aboriginal Culture

Beat Nation: Art, Hip Hop and Aboriginal Culture at Toronto’s Power Plant gallery brings together the work of 22 North American aboriginal artists to meditate upon the points of affinity and tension between these two creative cultures.

As the activities of Idle No More – Canada’s growing First Nations protest movement – dominate the national media, Beat Nation initiates a timely dialogue with contemporary aboriginal communities.

The Power Plant, Toronto, until 5 May 2013.
